Raindrop tenacious,
sudden, voracious,
a taste of the earth is it's drive.

And upon abrupt reaching
the earth that it's seeking,
regret is the shining behind it's dull eyes.

Much is the fashion
of those who choose passion
and deep felt desire
over logical thought.

And pity the droplets
that, plummeting down let
their simple minds wandering
decide they'd rather not.
