This actually started out as a song, hence the repetition in it...but since I suck at song writing it has been rendered only a poem (sorry for the confusion)

No One To Blame

Someday-
We’ll look back and laugh.
Someday-
It’ll all be in the past.

Someday-
I’ll forget about you.
But today-
Our friendship is through.

I could’ve done better.
It could’ve come out well.
But now my chances are gone,
And my life’s gone to hell.

I see you all the time,
But it’ll never be the same.
A broken friendship.
With no one to blame.

I used to
Think we were friends.
But now,
It’s the beginning of the end.

My fault:
I drove you away.
Your fault:
You made no effort to stay.

I could’ve done better.
It could’ve come out well.
But now my chances are gone,
And my life’s gone to hell.

I see you all the time,
But it’ll never be the same.
A broken friendship.
With no one to blame.

A broken friendship.
With no one to blame.

Hmm, well this sounds more like a song to me than a poem, because of the use of contractions and the melody with it, but I guess it can qualify as either. To be honest, I felt the rhymes compensated the originality of this piece. As you said, It could've come out well, but I got a slightly ..distant feeling when I read this. It just didn't seem like you were writing this one from the heart, and seemed you were more focused on the rhyme as opposed to the content of this. I did enjoy the last two lines though, thus being my favourite part of the poem. I hope this helps. Thanks for sharing.
