Writing Prompt - Describe the Rain (an improvisation of sorts)

The ever-constant sky ocean
surges on.

Below the grey, swaying plains
I stand motionless,
my hands cupped.

In my makeshift bowl,
I capture the clear river that rushes
towards the ground.

I follow the water
as gravity leads it to the lake.
Gravity leads me to the lakebed.

Hush, now,
child.
Hear the tiptoe of the rain
along the drive.

In the forest, the hermit
sits beneath the umbrella
of the trees.

In the forest, the birds cease their song
and keep dry their young.

On the lakeshore, I have just begin to sing.
