Decmber 21st, 2008 (Mk.II)
Hey again,
I'm going to be gone for this week, and have chosen Abbas to fill my position until I return. Relate all questions, comments, and concerns to him until after the 30th. He has full Admin powers, and kind of knows how to use them.
When I return, I have a list of suggestions from various members which I will address promptly. I've already made adjustments to the font size on the main page, and am currently plotting reference links (Dictionary, Thesaurus, etc.) and a large-scale tutorial on how to navigate and operate The Habitation, as some folks expressed difficulty navigating the website.
I am also working on various updates to the RP system, hoping to improve it's enjoyability without hampering the non-Story Telling members experiences. If it proves to be too difficult, I may create a mini-site dedicated to the roleplayers themselves.
Here is a small list of updates I am working on, or trying to figure out. These may or may not come to life, but wish me luck:
-Site Tutorials
-Writing/Story Telling improvement references
-Upgraded chat system
-Is Sylar really a badguy?
-Multiple roleplaying character portraits
-Optional profile fields for character traits
However, there are a couple suggestions I'll be unable or unwilling to implement, these are they:
-Profanity filter, I simply DO NOT believe in censorship in the slightest. If you have a poem or RP that you want to post with profanity or vulgarity in it, I have already established rules for identifying it as such. Refer to the rules posted in the Story Telling and Writing forums. If it becomes a problem however, I might readdress the issue.
-Customizeable Profiles/profile options... I wish I could, the service that hosts these forums is working on an update in the relatively near future that will make profiles more user-friendly. I've seen images of the prototype and it seems to support all of that fun stuff you folks want to see, so wait it out, your dreams might come true soon enough.
If you have any further suggestions, or something to add to any of the above, let me know.
I'm working my hardest (as soon as I get back, that is) on making these things work, so hang in there.
Much love,
Keegan

Yes, Sylar really is a bad guy. And shame on whoever asked that question.

I did. But he seems to be genuinely hurt about his lot in life. If normal people respond adversely to being upset, imagine how super-people must react. I think there is still hope.

Sylar is a sociopath. By that definition, he cares nothing of others because he has no conscience and no guilt. The only reason he is depressed about his lot in life is because of his own selfishness and his desire to expand beyond his current state is being stifled. The connections he establishes between other characters is the result of social manipulation in order to gain something. Only a sociopath could do what he did without feeling. To gain emotions now would be impossible, he is only going to betray and hurt again and should have been killed a long time ago.

I agree...if I was a character on that show I would have killed him when he first got caught. A bullet straight through the head....
then again, if he was killed, I have a feeling the show would end pretty soon afterwards...so I guess he can stay alive and I'll just continue hating him.

I really thought that he was going to change his ways when it looked like he was falling in love with...Maya.
And yet, he failed to change my opinion of him by killing her brother and then her.
He's a bad egg.
If love can't change him...what can?

A chainsaw enema? I think that's about the most powerful thing for changing someones mind about something.
