There is a quote and it sparked the coolest debate ever in one of my classes,

So I hope to plant it here and start a lovely debate!

“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?

Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing?

Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing?

Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing?

Then why call him God?”

This might be a debate and a rant...I haven't decided yet.

Back Story: Me and my husband have been together for about 3 years. We've only been married since June though. The girlfriend he had before me was...for lack of a better word, very special to him. He remembers everything about her, including (why he knows this I don't know) the exact date and time of the last time he slept with her.

Well, when we got together, he told me that he was going to cut off all contact with her. ...

I thought this Debate Topic would satisfy some of the poets that reside here.

Is a Poet Worth 1000 Scientists?

Argument: A poet, with his (or her) shiny words, can convince people to believe something that science/logic has or has not proven wrong or can not explain.

This Debate is open for you to present your own examples, but for the sake of originality, try not to bring your examples to religion.

Edit: For the sake of debate, take into consideration not just poets, ...

Last night I was greeted with the news that a friend of mine (adult)

had been arrested in connection to drugs. The police had found a drug

barron in England and my friend was unfortunately renting one of this

he does grow one plant of cannibis (sp?) but that should've got him no

more than a fine, instead the police ransacked his house and

Nobody has heard of Portello. Alright, what is the world missing that I am getting? I love Portello (Though of course I drink it maybe once a month for health reasons) Today, when I told everyone on ES I was drinking portello, no one had heard of it... Umm, are you all on Mars? I believe they probably run them through a gauntlet of testing to determine those employees who will most consistently fail to produce the correct order.

Without exaggeration, I have been to this McDonalds no less than a dozen times, and of those visits, I have gotten the correct order 2, maybe 3 times total.

I notice these correct orders are spaced out as well, which leads ...

That's what I said. Bitches.

Dictionary.com defines Bitches as:

   1. A female canine animal, especially a dog.

   2. Offensive

         1. A woman considered to be spiteful or overbearing.

         2. A lewd woman.

         3. A man considered to be weak or contemptible.

   3. Slang A complaint.

   4. Slang Something very unpleasant or difficult.

This is the dialogue that I wished had happened when I saw a girl I know today. She suprised me with her grace, as she often does, and when I lay eyes on her, giving a cheerful "There she is!" before heading downstairs towards my locker, I felt my stomach do flip-flops.
